Joe Lee Griffin inducted into BGA Hall of Fame
The late Joe Lee Griffin and owner of Eagle Point Golf Club, will be inducted into the Birmingham Golf Association's Hall of Fame.  Mr. Griffin had a lifelong passion for golf which was evident with the many contributions he made to golf in the local area.  Mr. Griffin was an accomplished amateur golfer, winning many amateur tournaments throughout his life.  He grew up learning the game of golf at Roebuck Golf Course, and played collegiately at the University of Dayton and later on the first golf team at Howard University (Samford University).  His lifelong interest in golf continued when he partnered with Don Huff to open Eagle Point Golf Club in 1990 with the goal to provide high quality, affordable golf that is open to the public.  He had a keen interest in promoting golf locally which included helping sponsor aspiring young golfers pursue careers on the professional tours and nationally through his involvement in the early stages of The Golf Channel network.  Eagle Point Golf Club is just one example of the impact of Joe Lee Griffin on golf in the Birmingham area.
